Jewelry and Fashion

Jewelry and fashion go hand in hand. No matter what era in history you research, you will find various styles of clothing and of course various styles of jewelry that were popular during the time. Whether the jewelry was to adorn the hair, the neck, the hands, or the body jewelry has played a large part when it comes to the fashion industry.

When a designer creates a look, all of sudden it is being worn by the famous and then everyone else has the desire to duplicate the look usually in smaller scale.

The seasons also play a huge part in jewelry and fashion. Toe rings are not as popular in the winter months when the toes are hidden away inside socks and shoes. However, as soon as the weather is warm out pop those toes with unique and adorable toe rings.

Watching what the designers have to save prior to the season is the best way in which to stay on top of jewelry and fashion that will be popular. For spring and summer 2007, the trend is leaning toward flower designs on pendants with pink flowers. Clothing is still hot in black and white and with this sterling sliver chains, silver earrings, and silver necklaces are the hot jewelry pieces to wear.

Other popular colors for the beginning of spring tend to be green blue, orange, and yellow. Using these colors you can find many stunning stones to include in your collection such as red jade, green jade, or golden yellow topaz.

Semi-transparent jewelry in the way of clear quartz, rose quartz, and smoky quartz is still at the top of the list for fashionable jewelry for 2007. Many people are wearing quartz along with crystal beads for a stunning fashion statement.

The most popular color for spring 2007 is blue. Combining your variety of blue dresses, blue blouses etc.. with sparkling blue gemstones of varying degrees is sure to be a hit and an attention grabber.

Fall and Winter of 2006, had popular styles using earthy tones such as deep olives, browns and lodens along with contrasting colors of various shades of gray with plum, raspberry, and eggplant. Layers were at the top of the fashion culture not only in clothing but also with jewelry with layered gold chains and pearls worn together. Large bulky jewelry and dainty jewelry were both seen and even seen together.

The gemstones and crystals we saw during the end of 2006 were deep neutrals balanced with silver and gold. Not only did we see this trend but also the feminine flair of the 1920’s was back with softer lines and fancy frills, which was wonderful with most any piece of jewelry that was not too gaudy.

2007 will be another trend more toward romanticism. Beads such as pearls will be back and strong. Colors for spring are antiques pales, weathered denim, bold brights, and contrasting colors include textures, prints, and patterns.

Just remember, fashion and jewelry do compliment one another and to stand out in the crowd you must mix and match your clothing with accessories that either contrast or blend well enough to be stunning.
